There are rumors that there will be no Season 3 of “Married at First Sight”, considering the terrible triple divorce that happened in Season 2.

Although the first season appealed to viewers well, the follow-up ended tragically.

Movie News Guide wrote that the plan for “Married at First Sight” was to show that there are relationships that can last in blissful marriage even though the couple had never met each other before.

However, in the episode entitled “Six Months Later”, three couples who were married in Season 2 all divorced, accordin to Vine Report.

Davina Kullar and Sean Varricchio, Jaclyn Methuen and Ryan Ranellone, and Jessica Castro and Ryan De Nino all separated a few months after getting married.

Kullar and Varricchio were the first couple to part ways, just one month after they married.

There were a few hints that the show might be close to being cancelled, such as the lack of available information and updates, as well as the casting call stating “no longer available”.

Vine Report wrote that Castro recently filed a temporary restraining order against De Nino who allegedly threatened to kill her and her family.

Fans started to doubt the matching process used by the show in selecting the individuals to be paired. Many thought that the couples may not have been screened sufficiently to give their marriage a higher rate of success.

Master Herald reported that “Married at First Sight” rated poorly in terms of marriage success in the United States, as well as in Denmark, where the show started, and in Australia, which also has its own version of the TV series.

In Season 1 of the Australian version, only one out of four couples survived their marriage – Alex Garner and Zoe Hendrix. In the U.S. version, only one out of three couples survived in Season 1 – Doug Hehner and Jamie Otis.

In total, there were six couples in Seasons 1 and 2 in the U.S. version, four couples in Denmark and four couples in Australia. However, only two out of 14 passed the social experiment, which garnered a success rate of only 14.3%.

Realty Today revealed that although the results may mean the cancellation of the U.S. show on FYI, the Australian version has just been renewed for a second season.

More news and updates regarding a potential “Marriage at First Sight” Season 3 are expected to surface in the following weeks.
