Don’t be surprised if you see undefeated UFC Women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey’s next fight last more than 30 seconds.
Known for her quick work on her opponents, Rousey’s upcoming tiff with challenger Bethe Correia has become personal.
Trash-talking and taunting would be normal but there are boundaries, and Rousey got ticked off when Correia declared that the reigning champion would commit suicide after receiving her first defeat.
@bethecorreia suicide is no joke or selling point. My father will be with me the day I hand you the comeuppance you deserve.

As it turned out, the brash talk ticked off Rousey. Unknown to Correia, Rowdy’s father died of suicide and such has ignited a different kind of fire which Rousey carries to their match at UFC 190 set for August 1 at Rio de Janeiro.
Correia did apologize for her remarks and cited her ignorance on the topic but Rousey doesn’t seem to be buying it. So rather than gain an advantage, the trash talk seems to have backfired and given the reigning UFC women’s bantamweight champion plenty of reason to give Correia a beating.
While the beating part seems to be practically a given, it is the length to which Rousey plans to deal it which Correia may want to worry about.
From previous matches, Rousey has had the habit of disposing her opponents early. In Correia’s case, she intends to deliver severe punishment on the challenger. If ever this would be the first time that Rousey would do it.
Her last opponent was the no. 2 contender Cat Zingano who lasted only 14 seconds with Rousey. So one has to wonder how long Correia would last with a pretty fired up Rousey in the Octagon.
“And this will not be over quickly. I will make sure you feel every moment of the lesson I’m going to teach you,” Rousey was quoted as saying from the Washington Post.
However, that was not all and Rousey followed it up with some photos from the Simpsons cartoons. It shows the usually naughty Bart Simpson hiding from Ronda Rousey, a message sent to Correia that she is taking this fight very personal after that controversial suicide remark made by the Brazilian fighter.
For her part, Correia has made a good account of herself after defeating Rousey’s friends and members of the Four Horsewomen, Jessamyn Duke and Shayna Baszler.
Impressed but visibly ticked by Correia, how long will this fight last? Is Correia ready for the pain the reigning UFC Women’s bantamweight champion plans to unleash?
