UFC News: Ronda Rousey, Laila Ali Fight Likely? Randy Couture Says He'll Train Boxer [Watch]

There are talks that a real match could actually happen between Ronda Rousey and Laila Ali, with Randy Couture chiming in.

TMZ reported that previously, Rousey and Muhammad Ali's daughter had a verbal exchange about a possible match between them. Both fighters have been undefeated in their careers and claim that they will win the fight if ever it happens. Ali said that Rousey was too small for her while the latter responded that size does not matter in mixed martial arts.

Ali is already 37 years old and has retired from professional boxing with a flawless record of 24-0. Rousey, 28, on the other hand, is currently dubbed as the best pound-for-pound female mixed martial arts fighter in the UFC. Bloody Elbow wrote that Ali has not fought since 2007 and is now focused on her family and new career.

Although the two are unlikely to actually meet in the boxing ring or Octagon, UFC Hall of Famer Randy Couture shared that he would be happy to teach Ali a few moves to win against Rousey. MMA Mania reported that Couture heard about the potential bout between the two ladies and said that he is willing to train Ali. According to Couture, Ali already has the boxing skills so he will be helping in the ground and pound and wrestling aspects.

Couture said in a Washington Post article, "Ronda Rousey's not gonna stand and box with her. She's gonna take her down on the ground and rip her arm off like she does everybody else's. (Ali) needs to learn to grapple."

He also told TMZ Sport, "For someone even as athletic as Laila it's going to be tough. How do you catch up with a bronze medalist in the Olympic judo in a mixed martial arts fight?"

Some fans posted that it would be a more even match if it would only be a boxing match, considering how Ali is already past her prime and retired. Rousey has above average striking skills but generally rely on her judo techniques to subdue opponents.

Despite all the hype and speculation, the dream match will most likely never happen. Ali did admit through her social media account that things were blown out of proportion and that she only responded to the questions hurled at her in the most honest way possible. She said she is long retired and has no intention of returning to the ring.
