Brian Griffin, the eloquent dog on the TV show "Family Guy", has come back to life three weeks after writers had decided to kill off the character.

In a report on TMZ, the character came back to life when Stewie wished from a mall Santa that he wanted his best friend back. This caused a wrinkle in the time space continuum, allowing him to steal his broken time machine from a another version of himself before it got broken. He then goes back in time to save Brian from the car that would kill him.

When Brian died in the Nov. 24 episode of "Family Guy", according to Hollywood Life, many fans of the show were outraged. Despite numerous requests for comment, series creator Seth McFarlane had refused to give a comment on the plot twist. Now, after the return of the character to life, he tweeted his comment on the whole death and return of Brian Griffin. He tweeted, "And thus endeth our warm, fuzzy holiday lesson: never take those you love for granted, for they can be gone in a flash."

He further added in subsequent tweets, "I mean, you didn't think we'd kill off Brianm, did you? Jesus, we'd have to be f**cking high" and "Oh and hey... thanks for caring so much about the canine Griffin. He is overcome with gratitude."

E! Online reported a number of positive responses on the return to life of Brian Griffith. Rebo punk tweeted, "Family Guy, Brian is back from the dead and all is right with the Griffin family." Marcus Stroud says, "Family Guy brought Brian back! Now all is right with the world!"

On the other hand, a number of fans tweeted their displeasure. One of them, Stuart Smith, reportedly said, "Family Guy is such an unbelievable cop out now.#StickToYourGuns". Micah reacted, "So Family Guy decided to bring back Brian by way of Stewie and a time machine. Total cop-out."
