A few weeks ago, Adnan Januzaj was a relatively unknown soccer player to the world at large. However, this past weekend he put on a show for Manchester United when he scored twice against Sunderland and led the defending Premier League Champions to a much needed victory.

Still only 18-years-old, the Belgian-born star-in-the-making is already garnering a tremendous amount of buzz as a potential transfer target for a major clubs. One of those teams is Barcelona.

According to the IB Times, the Spanish champs are intent on signing the youngster if he fails to reach an agreement with his current club.

"I'm not going to say which teams are interested in him, but I can tell you that there is interest from several European clubs," Januzaj's agent Dirk De Vriese said last week.

Januzaj moved to United from his former club Anderlecht in 2011 as a highly touted teenager. Barcelona is rumored to have had interest back then but lost the bid to the English giants.

Januzaj would be a terrific fit with Barcelona as the club has been looking to snag younger players for its midfield. Stalwart Xavi Hernandez is on the wrong side of 30 while Andres Iniesta only has a few more years left in peak form.

Januzaj was also recently invited to join the Belgian national side but rejected the offer by stating that he was not ready to decide on his international future.

"I respect his stance. Every player has the right to make his own choice, and I will not attempt to make any sort of ultimatum to him," Belgium coach Marc Wilmots said according to the report. "But I do intend meeting Adnan and his entourage to find out for myself exactly what their thoughts are. You cannot force a player to choose a country. It has to come from his heart."
