On Aug. 7, Warner Bros will release "We're the Millers."
The film, starring Jennifer Aniston, and Jason Sudekis, tells the story of a veteran pot dealer who creates a fake family as part of his plan to move a huge shipment of weed into the U.S. from Mexico.
The movie premiered in New York and received terrible reviews. A.O Scott from the New York Times wrote: "What really drives the movie is its own search for something to make fun of, and for a comic style that can feel credibly naughty while remaining ultimately safe and affirmative."
Kevin Jagernauth from the Playlist gave the movie a C- and stated, "'We're The Millers' isn't really a bad movie, so much as its inoffensively and instantly forgettable. You will laugh here and there, but you probably won't laugh even more."
The New York Daily Newspaper's Joe Neumaier said, "'The Millers' script -- it took four writers to cobble together something that seems so slight -- hits too many obvious notes between the moments when Aniston can strut her stuff."
Michael Phillips from the Chicago Tribune said, "The crux of the humor depends on the Sudeikis and Aniston characters bickering in a way that spells l-o-v-e, but the screenplay spells it a-g-g-r-a-v-a-t-i-o-n instead."
However, there were critics who enjoyed it. Entertainment Weekly's Chris Nashawaty gave it a B and wrote, "While Aniston shows that she's as deft on a stripper pole as she is with her sitcom-honed timing, Sudeikis wields his smart-ass sarcasm like a barbed weapon. And more often than not, it kills."
David Salazar of Latinos Post called it, "An Engrossing, Hilarious Family Comedy."
"We're The Millers" also stars Ed Helms, Will Poulter, and Emma Roberts and is rated R for crude sexual content, pervasive language, drug material and brief graphic nudity. Warner Bros. will release the film in 3,150 theaters.
