William Levy was strongly praised by Will Smith, who recently said, "We had dinner the other day and he's a genius, very talented, strong, handsome and intelligent. It's as if he were already a global superstar; it will give me great pleasure to see him getting there", according to declarations published by the magazine People en Español.
Cuban actor and model William Levy, naturalized citizen of the US, will star next year in the film Salsa, directed by Amy Heckerling, alongside Jada Pinkett-Smith---the wife of the leading actor of Men in Black and Independence Day Will Smith.
Pinkett-Smith, also producer of the film, chose Levy after his participation in the TV show Dancing With the Stars in 2012, where he won great popularity in the Anglo market after finishing in third place of the popular dance contest. In Salsa, Levy will play a dance instructor that will help the main character in a delicate moment of her life, using dance to see things in a different way.
This 32-year-old actor worked in the films Retazos de vida in 2008 and Planet 51 in 2009, as well as successful soap operas such as Sortilegio, Cuidado con el ángel and El triunfo del amor. Levy currently finished filming two more movies: Addicted and Single Moms Club and was chosen in the last two years as the most attractive Latin in showbiz, according to the magazine People en Español.
Meanwhile, Will Smith is on tour promoting his latest work, After Earth, where he worked with his son Jaden. It's the story of a boy and his father crashing their spaceship on planet Earth, a thousand years after being abandoned by humanity. When the father is kidnapped, his child must overcome his fears in order to save him.
In relation to the plot of the film, Smith commented on his greatest fear as a parent and said "to not prepare my children well for life experience. The film helped me to relieve some of those fears, as it allowed me to spend time with Jaden and we also learned about science and the environment".
Smith was recently in Mexico when he traveled there in April for the festival Summer of Sony in Cancun to attend the avant premiere of After Earth, and on his return, he proved very amused how he had improved his Spanish in the TV show Despierta America.
