There are only two episodes remaining in the third season of "Game of Thrones." It's devastating. It seemed like yesterday fans were huddling around their sofas, preparing themselves for the season 3 premiere. But alas, we've almost arrived at the end. That being said, there is still plenty to look forward to in the upcoming episodes.

Episode 9, titled "The Rains of Castamere," will serve as a precursor to the epic season 3 finale. Based on the official promo, the sounds of clashing swords and spewing of crimson blood will permeate the episode, making it one of the most exciting yet. Here's the official synopsis:

Robb presents himself to Walder Frey, and Edmure meets his bride. Jon faces his harshest test yet. Bran discovers a new gift. Daario and Jorah debate how to take Yunkai. House Frey joins with House Tully.

The Rains of Castamere is the unofficial war song referring to Lord Tywin Lannister's unmerciful victory over the rebellious House Reyne of Castamere. It's normally sung as a reminder for those who dare cross Tywin Lannister, or any of the Lannisters for that matter. So what can we expect? Impending battle.

Meanwhile, Edmure Tully and Walder's daughter Roslin Frey tie the knot at the behest of Robb Stark. Robb, accompanied by his mother and uncle, join Edmure as they travel to The Twins to meet the bride to be. Robb expresses his desire to win the war to his mother, who responds by telling him to show the Lannisters what it feels like to lose someone they love. Vicious.

The wedding, dubbed the infamous "Red Wedding," takes place at The Twins and ends in tragedy for the Starks. The massacre at the castle of Walter Frey will surely prepare us for a finale of epic proportions.

And then looking ahead even further, there's the season 3 finale, which will be a bittersweet conclusion to a fantastic season. The episode is titled "Mhysha," which signifies a High Valyrian and means "mother." There are several key mothers in the series, the most prominent being Daenerys, the mother of dragons, and Cersei Lannister, mother of the vicious young king, Joffrey. Here's a brief synopsis:

Joffrey challenges Tywin. Bran tells a ghost story. In Dragonstone, mercy comes from strange quarters. Dany waits to see if she is a conqueror or a liberator.

"The Rains of Castamere" will air on Sunday, June 2 on HBO.
