'Game of Thrones' Season 3 Premiere Night and Interview With Lena Headey On Cersei Lannister

While the rest of the world has to wait until Sunday night to see the "Game of Thrones" season three premiere, the show's stars got the first glimpse at last night's premiere in London. Although the premiere only screened the first episode, the celebration was received as any major cinematic blockbuster would.

Hundreds of fans lined to streets with hopes of spotting their favorite actor or actress strutting down the red carpet. For some, it may have proved to be a daunting task. Many of the actors were unrecognizable without their grotesque facial hair and blood-drenched wardrobe.

For those lucky fans able to claim their spot inside One Marylebone, episode one may have proven to be a slight disappointment. The episode, called "Valar Dohaeris," is based around the aftermath of the epic season two ending battle. It's intense dialogue and lack of forward action serves as a foundation for season three, which is naturally expected. However, for those hoping for a dragon-filled, bloodstained episode, you'll have to wait until episode two.

In other "Game of Thrones" news, Lena Headey, who plays the heartless Cersei Lannister, opened up to Entertainment Weekly about her character, something she's given a serious amount of thought. Cersei begins season three clashing with her father, who recently arrived to Kings Landing, and missing her lover Jaime, who appropriately enough is also her brother.

"She's missing Jaime because he's been gone for awhile," Headey said. "Interestingly her only ally is Tyrion (Peter Dinklage). It's sort of an interesting dynamic between those two. They share a common ground because they're both terrified of their father. It's that interesting thing where children, if they're frightened by their parents, there's a competition between them for their father's trust and belief. There's an interesting teenage behavior between them, and she's terrified of her father finding out who she really is."

Cersei also talked about her brother Joffrey, who currently rules the Iron Thrones with a brutal, unforgiving iron fist. "Joffrey is literally out of her control," she said. "It's so painful for her that it's such a big f*** up, that the kid she loves so much is so out of hand and she has little-to-no control over him."

The "Game of Thrones" world as we know it is about to come crashing down. Be sure to tune in this Sunday, March 31, at 9 p.m. on HBO.
