Two of summer's most popular vacations are fusing together to create one epic, unforgettable winter extravaganza. A music festival, set on a cruise ship, equals infinite fun for everyone. Who dreamt up such a crazy, unorthodox trip? The world-renowned pop-rock band Weezer, of course.
The inaugural Weezer Cruise set sail in January 2012, and now Rivers Cuomo and fellow band mates are ready to hit the open blue once again February 13-17, 2014. The trip will take passengers from Jacksonville, Fla. to the Bahamas and provide fans with live performances from Weezer a slew of other musicians that have yet to be announced.
The cruise will stop at two ports in the Bahamas and will close out with a massive private island beach party and concert. The band will also participate in fan-photo and Q&A sessions as well as an interactive Weezer Game Show.
In anticipation for the ultimate blowout, the band has released a preview providing further detail and showing clips from 2012's cruise, which proved to be a major success. The ship itself is a Carnival (uh-oh) cruise ship complete with ample bars, a swimming pool, restaurants and a mini-golf course. It's the perfect venue for a four-day wet and wild festival.
Fans are also happy to hear the Weezer Cruise will set sail once again. Twitter is exploding with posts from giddy fans ready to put on their sunscreen and floaties.
@meowqueeno: "WEEZER IS DOING ANOTHER CRUISE, OMFG I HAVE TO GO FOR MY EIGHTEENTH BIRTHDAY OMG OMG"
@EdDutton: "Doing anything I can to be on the weezer cruise next year"
@HappyLoserKid: "Oh my God, another Weezer cruise. Damn, I need lots of money."
Don't get too excited. The cruise isn't for another eleven months. For those of you in need of more money (tickets start at $699), you still have plenty of time.
