Demi Moore may have accumulated more wealth than her estranged husband Ashton Kutcher, but that's not stopping her from demanding spousal support in their $290 million divorce case.
More than a year after the Hollywood couple announced their split in November 2011 after six years of marriage, Moore finally filed papers for divorce against Kutcher yesterday. Though Kutcher filed divorce papers in December of that year, the two reportedly wanted to make a confidential deal over their separation before pursuing a divorce. However, the stars have not made much progress in reaching a settlement. According to an inside source, talks have broken down to money, while Moore blames Kutcher for being "hostile" and has "had enough" of his refusal to budge.
"Ashton has been very difficult during the talks. You could even say he has been hostile," a source added.
On top of that, an insider told TMZ that the 50-year-old "Ghost" star is seeking spousal support, not because she needs it, but as retribution because she was "really hurt" during their marriage because Kutcher was a "bad husband."
A report by CelebrityNetWorth.com in Nov. 2011 revealed that Moore is worth more than Kutcher with a net worth of $150 million, while 35-year-old "That 70's Show" actor has a net of $140 million.
TMZ also reports that the two are in the middle of negotiating a financial settlement and close to striking a deal, which won't include spousal support.
Demi and Ashton reportedly split following rumors that Kutcher had an affair with a 22-year-old model on the night of his and Moore's six-year anniversary.
