Immediately after the "50 Shades of Grey" targeted release date was announced, rumors and polls as to who would play the role of Anastasia ran rampant on the Internet, with Alexis Bledel topping the polls.

Now it's time to turn to Christian Grey. Henry Cavill is the current fan favorite, but there are a slew of actors being considered for the domineering role.

Fans believe Cavill is even dressing like Christian in hopes to catch E.L. James' eye. Cavill's 'Christian Grey-inspired' outfits to recent PR events have got people buzzing about his alleged interest in the role, according to Mstarz.

'The Vampire Diaries' heartthrob Ian Somerhalder is also a front-runner for the role of a lifetime. He's made ambiguous remarks referring to "rehearsals and auditions" that keep fans on the edge of their seats, but still nothing has been confirmed.

Yet another contender for the Christian Grey Role is Taylor Lautner from "Twilight." The actor was caught on camera chatting with E.L. James at the Grey Goose Pre-Oscar Party. It's unknown whether they were discussing the possibility of working together or what they ate for dinner that night, but either way Lautner seems to be putting in the work.

Many fans have snarled at the thought of Kristen Stewart playing the role of Ana because of her association with "Twilight." E.L. James herself has stated that she does not want Stewart or Robert Pattinson anywhere near the film, according to Gather Celebs News Channel. It's unclear whether Lautner falls in the same category. For whatever reason, he's not as strongly associated with the "Twilight" as Stewart or Pattinson, who have been dubbed the faces of the saga.

Over the next several months, more details regarding the "50 Shades of Grey" cast and exact release date will be revealed, but for now we can only speculate and hope for our favorites.
