Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine partnered up with Adam Samberg’s The Lonely Island during this weekend’s ‘Saturday Night Live’ in a digital short that had everyone laughing called “YOLO.” The three-minute long video, which also features SNL musical guest Kendrick Lamar, has gone viral on YouTube since being published on Sunday.

"YOLO," which has become this generations’ carpe diem, took a whole other meaning during the incredibly funny digital short. The song starts off with Samberg singing, “YOLO, you only live once/The battle cry of a generation/This life is a precious gift/So don’t get too crazy/It’s not worth the risk.”

Members of Lonely Island continued, with choruses sung by Levine, including this gem: “You know that we are still young/Burn the prints off your thumbs/Then pull out all your teeth/So you can’t bite your tongue.”

The video has become an Internet sensation, with over 3.7 million views in less than two days. Of course, Samberg is known to create successful videos with charming singing funnymen. No one can forget his memorable “Dickin A Box” with singer-turned-actor Justin Timberlake or “Jack Sparrow” with singer Michael Bolton. “YOLO,” which is set to appear in The Lonely Island’s upcoming album, is sure to be just as successful.

In a poll conducted by the Houston Chronicle, the digital short was chosen as the best part of Levine’s ‘SNL’ appearance. And YouTube and iTunes users apparently agree, “YOLO” earned over 113,068 likes on the video sharing site and was ranked No. 38 in the Top 100 Songs on iTunes.

What did you think of Samberg and Levine’s “YOLO”?
