Real Madrid 4, Ajax Amsterdam 1
Cristiano Ronaldo continued his hot play with a three goal performance in a 4-1 drubbing over Ajax Amsterdam.
The match was not a comfortable one for the Spanish Champions as the first half saw them frustrated time and against by Ajax keeper Kenneth Vermeer.
Ronaldo finally broke through in the 42nd minute when he tapped in a Karim Benzema cross. Benzema then added his own goal just three minutes after the half with a tremendous bicycle off a Kaka cross.
Ajax fought back and got a header goal from Niklas Moisander at the 56 minute mark to put more pressure on Madrid.
But then Ronaldo came to rescue again with two goals in tow minutes. His second goal was gorgeous rifle from outside the area while the third was a graceful chip over the Ajax keeper. With the win, Madrid now has first place of Group D and a +4 goal differential. For Ronaldo, this is his second straight hat trick and his 12th goal of the season in all competitions. For those wondering, now he has more goals than Messi overall.

Manchester City 1, Borussia Dortmund 1
Manchester City continues to wade in third place of the group after a disappointing 1-1 draw to Borussia Dortmund.
After a deadlock for the first half, a defensive breakdown by Man City allowed Marco Reus to break through and blast a shot that keeper Joe Hart barely got a hand on. The lead would last until the final moments when a controversial foul by Neven Subotic on Sergio Aguero would give Man City a penalty shot. Substitute Mario Balotelli took advantage of the shot and scored.
Manchester can thank Hart for putting up save after save as Dortmund outshot Manchester despite being dominated in possession.
