LG already impressed the tehcnosphere with the reveal of its new G Flex smartphone, the company's first smartphone to take advantage of its innovative "bendable" technology. Now, a newly released video shows the phone can do even more with LG's impressive new tech than previously imagined, bending, flexing and even flattening out if users try punishing the device.

The video, originally on Engadgetshows the LG G Flex face down, so that the phone is only touching the table on the two ends. The tester pushes down on the middle of the phone, making it lay flat. The tester does this repeatedly, showing that the G Flex has earned it's name and can take some punishment from users trying to shoehorn the oddly shaped device into different places.

This is good news, as it shows that LG has truly made flexible materials for smartphones, specifically the G Flex. Because of this, the G Flex may end up being one of the most durable phones on the market when it is released. Potential users will not have to worry about the G Flex falling out of pockets or other holders. The device will be able to flatten out so it does not slip out when users are walking around town.

LG has not revealed a release date for the G Flex, however, it is widely expected that the smartphone will be released sometime before the end of 2013. Meanwhile, the company has revealed some specs for the G Flex. The curved device will have a 6-inch OLED display that has a resolution of 720p.

As for the chipset of the device, the G Flex will have a Snapdragon 800 processor with 2GB of RAM, making it fairly powerful in that regard. The phone will also have rear volume and power buttons, taking a page out of the recently released LG G2. One final feature that will be available on the LG G Flex is the "self-healing" coating available on the smartphone. This coating will help the phone heal from various scratches and marks that end up on the device, and should help accident prone users from having big embarrassing scratches on their G Flex.
