When WWE 2K14 is released on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on Oct. 29, the game will allow players to explore the 30 Years of Wrestlemania mode, and even create unique wrestlers to pit against past and present WWE superstars. Before the game's release, here's a preview of everything players can expect from WWE 2K14.
The highlight of the game will be the 30 Years of Wrestlemania mode, which gives players the chance to experience over 45 different Wrestlemania matches. To recreate these legendary matches and moments, a huge amount of WWE Hall of Famers and WWE Legends are included in the game, including Hulk Hogan, Macho Man Randy Savage and Shawn Michaels. In addition, several wrestlers will have current and retro outfits (most notably The Undertaker, who has three different outfits, including DLC) to make these special matches look more authentic, and the development team has gone all out to recreate different moments as accurately as possible.
While the main story mode of the game may focus on past wrestlers, the game still includes a massive amount of current WWE wrestlers such as current WWE Champion Randy Orton, World Heavyweight Champion John Cena, and contenders like Daniel Bryan, Alberto Del Rio and CM Punk. Besides the big names, many midcard and up-and-comers will be in WWE 2K14 such as The Shield, Kofi Kingston and Dolph Ziggler. For fans of the WWE Divas, many current and former female wrestlers will also be available in the game. The roster will be further expanded with DLC packs such as the NWO pack, which features legends such as Kevin Nash and Scott Hall.
Players can also create their own wrestlers using the Create-A-Wrestler feature, and players can put their creations in the WWE Universe mode, which provides a more free-flowing wrestling experience. For the first time ever players can modify a WWE Superstar's template to create their own versions of the current WWE roster, such as a leisure-suit-wearing CM Punk or Daniel Bryan with goat horns.
WWE 2K14 may one of the best wrestling video games of the current generation of consoles, and will set the bar high for the next generation of WWE games when the series inevitably comes to the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
