Grand Theft Auto 5 launched the online portion of the game on Oct. 1, and players have begun flocking to the multiplayer mode after playing through the single player campaign since its Sept. 17 launch. For those still playing the offline mode, there are a variety of cheats and other exploits to help players progress through the game faster.
The skyfall cheat, which causes players to spawn in the sky before plummeting to the ground, may seem pointless, but there is a way for players to survive the fall. If players enter the cheat (LB, LT, RB, RT, LEFT, RIGHT, LEFT, RIGHT, LB, LT, RB, RT, LEFT, RIGHT, LEFT, RIGHT on the Xbox 360, or L1, L2, R1, R2, LEFT, RIGHT, LEFT, RIGHT, L1, L2, R1, R2, LEFT, RIGHT, LEFT, RIGHT on the PlayStation 3) they can survive the fall by landing right on their player's head and face. While this makes absolutely no sense on the surface, it actually allows the player to withstand the fall, providing users with an easy short cut for moving about the map.
If players need some cash, one trick will allow a cash drop to spawn infinitely. One hidden package found in the ocean - seen on this page - can be used to gain large amounts of cash quickly. If the player takes two characters to the hidden package near the sunken airplane, they can send one to the ocean floor to grab the package, then immediately switch to the other character and back again. This will refill the oxygen meter for the character and respawn the package, allowing players to grab the package over and over again for more money.
Players can use a similar strategy if they do not feel like paying to repair a vehicle. Players can switch between one character in a damaged vehicle to another before instantly switching back, and the vehicle will be fully repaired. This strategy also works when a character is injured; switching quickly between characters will refill the life meter.
For those having trouble reducing their wanted levels, there are a few tips to lower it quickly. If players enter a Mod Shop without the police seeing, once they leave, their wanted level will be at zero. Players can also switch vehicles to escape the police notice easier, since they will look for the original car. Finally, if a player is being chased by the police they can drive on train tracks to avoid them, as the police will not follow a player when down the tracks.
