Grand Theft Auto 5 may have just been released on Sept. 17, but it didn't take long for fans to get busy searching Los Santos for secrets and easter eggs. Along the way, they may also notice various glitches that show that the game's open world sometimes falls apart in humorous ways. Here are some of the secrets found in the game, as well as few glitches users will get a kick out of.
One of the first easter eggs found in the game is a reference to both Ripley's Believe it or Not and the "Aliens" franchise. One store in Vinewood is called Bishop's WTF, an homage to the Believe it or Not franchise. In addition, Bishop is the name of the character Lance Henriksen plays in the movie "Aliens," much like Ripley is the name of Sigourney Weaver's character in the franchise. Another movie reference in the game concerns Ryan Gosling's character in the movie "Drive." Players who go to the Discount Clothing Store in Grapeseed can buy a similar jacket to the one the actor wears in the movie, only with a gold crab on the back instead of a scorpion. Finally, Grand Theft Auto 5 pays tribute to the movie "No Country for Old Men." Players exploring the desert can happen across the aftermath of a drug deal gone bad, with dead and dying drug dealers in a circle in the desert. Further exploring the area reveals two more dying drug dealers with a briefcase full of cash, much like the beginning of the movie.
Similar to many other open-world games like previous Grand Theft Auto titles and The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim, GTA 5 suffers from some interesting glitches, to say the least. One video of such a glitch shows the player falling through the game's world and ending up in some sort of bizarre version of the world before failing the mission. This problem seems to be one of the biggest issues in the game, as many different glitch videos show players falling through the map at different areas. Another glitch has players suddenly flying through the air, which obviously leads to some problems for the character. Other reported glitches include random frozen NPC's appearing in strange places and players missing the start points of missions by just a few inches.
