A new special edition of the Xbox One is being released by Microsoft when the device launches in November, but it will only be available to Microsoft employees who have worked on the device.

On NeoGAF a new photo shows a white Xbox One that will be a free gift to eligible Microsoft employees, along with a host of other goodies that the company is giving out to the people responsible for the next-gen device. The White Xbox One comes with a white controller as well, but the Xbox One's Kinect remains the standard black color.

The white version of the Xbox One has "I made this" engraved in the device, along with an unreleased message that will also be put on the Xbox One. In addition to receiving the $500 console, employees will get a free year of Xbox Live, all the first party Xbox One titles available at launch, and a special achievement to boot.

The white Xbox One looks amazing, and hopefully Microsoft eventually releases a version of this new Xbox One to the public, as it is not hard to imagine fans shelling out for the white Xbox One. In addition, a white Xbox One would help the console stand out compared to the PlayStation 4, which is only available in black at launch, though blue and red controllers will be available to buy at launch. Considering that day one options for both consoles are black and black, having a white option would be a classy alternative to the industry standard.

If devices such as the Moto X  have shown anything, it is that customers are willing to try out different color options for devices, so having more color options early for a next-gen console could give it an advantage over the other.

The Xbox One has a release window set for November, but have not set a date within the month for the console's release. The PlayStation 4 is set for a release on November 15, so it is safe to say that the Xbox One will not be available that day. Both the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 will have strong launch titles available, and Microsoft will offer 23 titles for players to buy at day one. The Xbox One will come with a controller, the updated Xbox Kinect, and a mono headset. Preorders are still available for the device, so interested users can still reserve their very own Xbox One before it is released at the end of the year.
