Sony has revealed the release date for the PlayStation 4: fans of the Sony device can look forward to receiving the console on Nov. 15. While Microsoft hasn't formally revealed the exact release date for the Xbox One, it will reportedly come out in November as well. Both the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4 have also revealed their launch lineups available for day one, but which console has the advantage?

The Xbox One will have 23 games available at launch, while the PlayStation 4 will offer 21 confirmed titles. Several titles will appear on both consoles, and represent some of the biggest blockbuster games that will be available in the fall. Assassin's Creed 4, Battlefield 4, Call of Duty: Ghosts, FIFA 14, Just Dance 2014, LEGO Marvel Super Heroes, Madden NFL 25, Minecraft, NBA 2K14, NBA Live 14, Need For Speed: Rivals, Skylanders Swap Force and Watch Dogs will be available for both consoles at launch.

This leaves both consoles with few exclusives. Eight PlayStation 4 exclusives will be available at launch, while the Xbox One will have 10 titles exclusive to the console at launch. Both consoles have their fair share of big titles coming at launch. On the Xbox One side, Dead Rising 3 will be available, along with the heavily hyped Ryse: Son of Rome and the potential sleeper hit Killer Instinct. On the PlayStation 4 side, some big launch games include the free to play DC Universe Online, Killzone Shadow Fall, and the quirky Knack.

One interesting note is the rival racing game exclusives for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4. The Xbox One will have the Forza 5, and the PlayStation 4 will have DriveClub available at launch.

Another interesting point is that Sony will have several free to play games available at launch. In addition to DC Universe Online, the games Warframe and War Thunder will be launch titles. Microsoft will have Killer Instinct as a free to play game to some extent, but that is all for launch titles.

Overall, neither the PlayStation 4 nor the Xbox One has a launch lineup that really tips the scale in their favor. While there are some solid exclusives on both consoles, the majority of launch titles will be shared, so it will be the games released later for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 that will give one console a software advantage over the other.
