The PlayStation 4 finally has a release date set for Nov. 15, and the console will be contending with the Xbox One to gain an early advantage after launching. In honor of the recent announcement from Sony's press conference, we bring you the skinny on the PlayStation 4, less than three months away from the console's launch.

The PlayStation 4 will retail for $399. For that price, customers will receive the PlayStation 4, the Dualshock 4 controller, headset, and the power, HDMI and USB charging cables. Additional controllers can be bought for $60 each, and Gamespot is reporting that at launch Sony will have red and blue Dualshock 4 controllers in addition to the black standard controller. The console is still available in a wide varieties of SKU's for several different outlets, but it appears as though some retailers such as Gamestop have cut off preorders and Sony has told European gamers that they can no longer guarantee preordered systems will arrive on launch day.

In terms of hardware, the PlayStation 4 has some mighty specs. The CPU is a x86-64 AMD "Jaguar" Single-chip custom processor with eight core processors. The GPU is an AMD next-generation Radeon based graphics engine, and the RAM will be an 8 GB GDDR5, with up to 5.5GB of RAM available for game developers. The PlayStation 4 has 500GB of internal memory available.

As for launch titles, the PlayStation 4 will have 21 games available for gamers to choose from at release. Some titles will be exclusives such as the kooky Knack, Killzone Shadow Fall, and several free to play games such as Warframe, War Thunder and DC Universe Online. In addition to these exclusives, several big budget blockbusters will appear at launch such as Battlefield 4, Call of Duty: Ghosts, Assassin's Creed 4, and the lineup of EA Sports titles. The PlayStation 4 will not be backwards compatible; so recent PlayStation 3 hits such as Grand Theft Auto 5 cannot be played on the console. The full list of PlayStation 4 and Xbox One launch titles can be seen here.

Overall, the PlayStation 4 is shaping up for a strong release, with several big titles for gamers to choose from and strong specs showing that the console is comparable to the Xbox One and gaming PC's in terms of technology. Look out for the PlayStation 4 on Nov. 15.
