Samsung fans are anticipating the arrival of the Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge Plus. It would be ideal to put the two devices side-by-side in comparison to determine which one would suit your needs.
Phone Arena reported that the Galaxy Note 5 appeared to have a 5.7-inch display, based on leaked schematics that have been appearing online, although these are unverified. The design appeared to be inspired by the curves and materials of the Galaxy S6 as well as its Note predecessors. There is a pop-up mechanism for the stylus too. The dimensions of the upcoming phablet are 153.3mm x 76.1mm x 7.9mm. Charging will be through the standard microUSB port.
As for the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus, it did not appear much different compared to the S6 Edge. It is a dual-curve phablet with thinner bezels, a larger home button that may include the new fingerprint scanner slightly bigger dimensions than its predecessor.
As for the product specifications, GottabeMobile stated that the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 will feature a 16-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front camera. It will run on the Exynos 7420 octa-core processor or Exynos 7422 octa-core processor. The device will have 4GB of RAM and users have the option to get 32GB, 64GB or 128GB of internal storage. The product will also come with a 3,000mAh or 4,000mAh battery and Android 5.1.1 Lollipop out of the box.
GSM Arena indicated that the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus will have a 5.5-inch screen with a 2K resolution and 534 ppi pixel density. It will run on the Exynos 7420 and will feature 4GB of RAM, Mali-T760 GPU and at least 32GB of internal storage. The device will have a 16-megapixel rear shooter and a 5-megapixel front camera.
Based on the same Phone Arena report, the Note 5’s main camera may include optical image stabilization. The device may further include the UFS 2.0 flash storage. The Galaxy S6 Edge Plus may also have the same flash storage, considering how it is already present in the Galaxy S6. The batteries of both devices may be non-removable. Both devices showcased significant improvements in the display so graphics professionals will definitely appreciate the new hardware and higher resolution.
Samsung will host an Unpacked Event on August 13, 2015, so the two devices are expected to be introduced at the event. More details and updates are expected in the following days leading up to the big launch.
