When will Samsung finally announce its next Note?
Phone Arena has revealed that the Korean giant might announce the next phablet by end July, which means that it would arrive earlier than expected.
Who Wired noted that the Galaxy Note series came out every September since 2011 at the opening of the IFA in Berlin. Thus, drawing people to think about a Samsung Note 5 showcase at the same event in the same month. But that may not be the case this year, it said, adding that the firm pushed forward the release plan to be able to produce the prototype by June.
"[T]he release plan was pushed forward by over a month due to earlier than expected development of Galaxy Note 5. It is also seen as a strategy due to shorter honeymoon time of premium phones and to fight back the iPhone fad. Released last October, iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus surpassed 50 million unit sales per quarter, further consolidating its market leadership with a follow-up version this October. Especially, iPhone started to take over the big screen market, previously dominated by Galaxy Note, posing a threat to Samsung Electronics," the Who Wired report said.
Who Wired said it is also expected that the new Note device would come out with the new Samsung Pay feature in it.
Sam Mobile has reported that the new Note 5 dubbed as Project Noble would have a 2K or a 4K flat-screen Super AMOLED display. It pointed out that it is still unsure which one would Samsung adapt on its new handset but it is certain that it is choosing and working on these two options.
It is believed that Samsung would go for the Exynos 7422 processor. However, Sam Mobile said it is still unsure with the Exynos 7422 processor as it revealed that Samsung is also pondering on putting in the new Exynos 7430 chipset on the new Note 5. However, Sam Mobile is having second thoughts about the Exynos 7430 chip as it is "supposedly just an engineering sample" and that it "isn't ready for prime time yet." No other details about the Note 5 have been revealed recently.
Rumors about the upcoming Galaxy Note 5 came out following Sam Mobile's earlier exclusive report speculating on two new Samsung devices -- one with a model number SM-G928S and another with model number SM-N920F. Samsung has not yet commented on the matter.
Should Samsung unveil the new Note 5 earlier than September? Or should it stick with its initial plan? What do you think? Share your thoughts through the comments section below!
