Details about the rumored Samsung Galaxy Note 5 have recently hit the web. The news again comes from Sam Mobile, a tech website focused on Samsung devices and rumors.
In its latest report, Sam Mobile detailed about the upcoming device, dubbed as Project Noble. First, Sam Mobile cleared that the Korean giant might be releasing only one variant for its new Note device. It noted that this was revealed to them by one of its sources. The news outlet failed to identify its source nor did it detail about his or her credibility.
Okay, let's get into the Note 5's specs and features. According to Sam mobile's source, the new Samsung Galaxy Note 5 would have a 2K or a 4K flat-screen Super AMOLED display. It pointed out that it is still unsure which one would Samsung adapt on its new handset but it is certain that it is choosing and working on these two options. The company reportedly is still working on the prototypes for each one and is still undecided which to choose.
Now, for the processors, it is believed that Samsung would go for the Exynos 7422 processor. "The Exynos 7422 processor is the company's homegrown modem...It is expected to be the company's first ever all-in-one solution (ePoP) as it will combine the CPU, GPU, RAM, storage, and modem on a single chip," Sam Mobile said.
Apparently, it is still unsure with the Exynos 7422 processor as it revealed that Samsung is also pondering on putting in the new Exynos 7430 chipset on the new Note 5. However, Sam Mobile is having second thoughts about the Exynos 7430 chip as it is "supposedly just an engineering sample" and that it "isn't ready for prime time yet."
Sam mobile has not yet spoken about the Note 5's camera, size, and other features.
Rumors about the upcoming Galaxy Note 5 came out following Sam Mobile's earlier exclusive report speculating on two new Samsung devices -- one with a model number SM-G928S and another with model number SM-N920F. Sam Mobile learned that the device with model number SM-G928S would be a new variant of the recently released Galaxy S6 while the other the SM-N920F would be the new Galaxy Note 5.
"It appears that the SM-G928S is a new variant of the Galaxy S6 as the model number makes it clear that's a derivative of an existing model rather than a new model altogether, model numbers reveal that the new variant will at least make its way to South Korea, the US and certain markets in Europe. On the other hand the SM-N920F is likely the Galaxy Note 5, since the Galaxy Note 4 carried model number SM-N910x. Our sources have informed us that internally the new Galaxy S6 variant is being referred to as Project Zen, while the next-generation Galaxy Note handset is known as Project Noble," to quote the actual Sam Mobile report.
Samsung has yet to confirm these rumors.
