The event is official.
Apple has sent out its invitations to their Oct. 23 event, widely rumored to be the debut for the iPad Mini.
The invitation features the phrase, "We've got a little more to show you."
One immediately aspect that comes to mind is the word "little," perhaps a reference to the smaller iPad.
The rumored iPad Mini is reported to have a screen size of 7.85-inches with LCD display and following the trend of thinner devices such as the iPhone 5 and iPod Touch 5G, could see the Mini be thinner compared to the iPad 3.
According to MobileGeeks, the iPad Mini will be offered in 8GB, 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB models.
Following Apple's trend to debut more than one product at their events, spectators could see the debut of the Mac Mini and the 13-inch MacBook Pro with Retina Display.
It was speculated Apple would send the invites last week on Oct. 10, but instead went out with the one week notice.
The date of the event falls on a busy week for tech fans. Samsung is preparing to launch their Galaxy Note 2 in the US with an Oct. 24 event in New York City (NYC) and Microsoft's Windows 8 launch will be the next day, on Oct. 25, also set in NYC.
Apple's event will take place at the California Theatre in San Jose, California at 1 p.m. EDT.
Similar to their iPhone 5 event in September, a live stream to the event is unlikely but expect leaks during the event. Apple usually post the video of their events later in the day.
Latinos Post will provide coverage of the event and debut of the Apple device.
