Samsung is schedule to have their Galaxy Note 2 launch event on Oct. 24 in New York City (NYC).

Although details are scare in terms event details, aside from the date and a 7 p.m. ET time, past launch events could indicate some details.

As GottaBeMobile stated, a live stream for the event is not confirmed but it's very likely. Samsung has offered free live stream for those unable to make the event, recently for the Galaxy Note 10.1 (also took place in NYC) and recently with the Galaxy Note 2 at the IFA 2012 in Berlin, Germany.

How elaborate will the NYC event be?

When the Galaxy Note 2 launched in Berlin, the event featured a symphony, magician, and a large screen to assist in the specifications. It would be surprising if Samsung decides to go low-key for the event instead.

What is confirmed are the carriers of the device.

The Galaxy Note 2 will be available for five US mobile carriers: AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, U.S. Cellular, and Verizon.

U.S. Cellular has already started to accept preorders for the Galaxy Note 2 with a starting price of $299.99 for the 16GB model.

The device's features include a 5.5-inch Super AMOLED HD screen at 1,280x720 resolution., a rear-facing eight-megapixel camera and a front-facing camera with 1.9 megapixels, 1.6GHz quad-core processor, 4G LTE, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, 3,100mAh battery, offered in 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB models, and the S Pen stylus, to name a few.

According to the IDG News Service, Samsung wants the device to be in 128 countries and with 260 carriers.
