Rockstar Games denied rumors suggesting that the release date of Grand Theft Auto V for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC will be pushed back at a later date.
Rumors about the delayed release date started when YouTube user, HalcyonDeathSquad, claimed that the soon-to-be-released game was shown to gamers behind closed doors at Gamescom. The video also stated that users experienced a lot of glitch, the reason why the original release date will be changed.
Responding to questions about the authenticity of the report, Rockstar Games announced on their support page that the release date has "not changed" and that the original fall release date for GTA V will stay.
"I'm also looking forward to the PC release; however this release date has not changed. Please see our support article, "Grand Theft Auto V Release Date on PlayStation®4, Xbox One, and PC" for the most recent information on this topic," Rockstar Games wrote.
During the company's Q1 2015 fiscal earning call earlier this month, the developer confidently said that gamers can look forward to the release of GTA V for PS4, Xbox One and PC this fall, while also adding that the newest iteration of the popular series will feature major improvements that gamers will surely appreciate.
"We're highly enthusiastic about the future of Grand Theft Auto Online, including its upcoming fall launch on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC," the developer said via The Inquisitr. "This fall, Rockstar Games will launch the blockbuster hit Grand Theft Auto V on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC, bringing across-the-board graphical and technical enhancement to the game's already breathtaking open world experience."
But while the release date delay for GTA V was denied, Rockstar Games confirmed that gamers will have to wait a bit longer for the highly anticipated "Heist" DLC for Grand Theft Auto V Online.
The GTA V Online DLC, which would give players new car models and more job options, was originally slated for release this spring, but Rockstar Games admitted that the development of "Heist" is taking longer than their initial projection.
"We know many fans have been eagerly awaiting the release of the Online Heists that we had planned to release for you this spring, and they are taking more time to create than originally anticipated. We are very sorry for the delay, and are working hard to bring them to you as soon as we can. Please know that we are focused as always on making the best possible content for you to play and we are thankful to all of you for your patience, understanding and support." Rockstar Games wrote via the company's support page.
