Rockstar had promised a stimulus package of $500,000 in in-game cash to Grand Theft Auto 5 players who suffered through the initial dreadful launch of the game's online mode, and now it looks as though Patch 1.05 will bring the money to users very soon.
The money was initially promised after the game's online mode was launched with many crippling bugs that ranged from deleting a player's cars to bugs that would delete a user's character data. While those bugs may be fixed for the most part, Patch 1.05 helps take care of a few remaining issues, in addition to giving player's their money (if they qualified for it). The new patch will prevent players from having their progress lost even if the cloud service is disabled by network problems. Players can also rest assured that the new patch will protect the money players have gained in the game, even if the network is disabled. Finally, the patch should stop player vehicles from disappearing, and also prevent mods from going away in Grand Theft Auto Online.
In addition to all these bug fixes, Rockstar will also give players who logged into the online portion of the game in October $500,000 in in-game money. However, the money may not arrive as soon as the patch is downloaded. The cash can take up to two full days to appear in a user's bank account, so those who are expecting the money should keep an eye out to see if and when it appears.
With this free patch and stimulus package, gamers can now start looking forward to the release of the other planned free content coming to the game. This includes the Beach Bum DLC that will give players a new set of items and missions to use all while exploring the sunny beaches found around Los Santos. Another set of DLC will add heists to the multiplayer online mode, giving crews the chance to undertake their own elaborate robberies like those seen in the single player portion of the game. However, Rockstar has not committed to a release date for any future DLC, so it could be some time until this content is available to download.
