Anybody who missed the opportunity to pre-order the Xbox One has another chance: retailer Best Buy has replenished its pre-order stock of the next-gen console.
Best Buy is offering the Day One edition of the device, which will include the console, a special edition controller, the Xbox One Kinect, Killer Instinct: Round One, and a special achievement. In addition, the retailer is offering bundled packages for the console that include launch titles for the Xbox One or extra accessories, but these cost more than the $499 price tag for the Day One Edition Xbox One.
The electronics retailer had previously sold out of the console, but it appears as though the company received a new influx of consoles from Microsoft. No word yet on if Sony responds by releasing more PlayStation 4s for pre-order before its Nov. 15 release date.
Both Sony and Microsoft had previously stated that they were holding back stock of their next-gen consoles to ensure supply for the foliday shopping season. It is unclear how this new pre-order supply cuts into Microsoft's holiday season reserves.
In other Xbox One news, Microsoft Corporate Vice President Phil Spencer spoke to Ausgamers and was asked about potential cross platform saves between the console and PCs. Spencer agreed that the feature will most likely happen in the future, as Microsoft has experimented with it in the past:
"...I think what you're talking about makes a lot of sense. Now you have differences in Windows gaming and console gaming around control and input... in fact if you go back to Shadow Run on Xbox 360 -- something I worked on -- we had PC players playing against Xbox 360 customers. We didn't have tremendous success with that, but we learnt a lot from it."
Spencer elaborated and said that a shared experience across all platforms in terms of friends lists and Achievements will be something that Microsoft will try to achieve with the Xbox One and PC:
"This connected ecosystem across all the different devices is definitely where I think the future of gaming is going; you don't have to do it as a developer, but you have the capability and I think a system like Xbox Live across all those screens where you know who someone is and who their friends are, what their Achievements are and their progression is really critical to that."
The Xbox One launches on Nov. 22.
