Valve has been very busy preparing the recently announced SteamOS, Steam Machines, and Steam Controller for launch, but many fans are waiting for the company to deliver more news about Half-Life 3 and Left 4 Dead 3. Valve has remained quiet about those games, but a new leak reveals the games are in fact in development, and who exactly is working on the games.

Valve Time is reporting that Valve's Jira database was once again made available to the public, and revealed more information about the teams responsible for both Half-Life 3 and Left 4 Dead 3. This database is the same that revealed the two games, along with the Source 2 engine, when it's data was leaked back in June.

Half-Life 3, which has been delayed so long its become a joke among gamers, will have Portal and Left 4 Dead co-writer Erik Wolpaw involved in production, along with writer Marc Laidlaw. Level designer John Guthrie is also on the production team, according to the leak, along with composer Kelly Bailey writing music. This is a pretty solid team, and suggests that the game may be still in the writing phase of production, though having a composer attached to the game may indicate that Valve is farther along than they have let on.

Left 4 Dead 3 also has some talented people attached to the project. Clint Hocking, who worked on Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory and Far Cry 2, is attached to the game, along with Doug Church, the creator of System Shock. Interestingly enough, many Half-Life 3 staff members are also attached to Left 4 Dead 3, including Guthrie and Wolpaw. Other staff members include Wolpaw's writing partner Chet Faliszek and artist Andy Nisbet.

Neither Half-Life 3 nor Left 4 Dead 3 have a release date yet, and Valve refuses to comment on the progress of the games. While fans are not quite as ravenous for Left 4 Dead 3 news as they are for Half-Life 3 (the last new content for the Half-Life series was released in 2007), both games are highly-anticipated titles for gamers. With Valve busy with a variety of projects aimed at bringing the Steam experience to living rooms, considering the length of time players have been waiting for the next entries to these flagship franchises, Valve should make Half-Life 3 and Left 4 Dead 3 more of a priority.
