After the scandals over alleged fraud and sexual harassment against many of his colleagues which cost him the broadcast of his radio show "Piolín por la Mañana," Eddie "Piolín" Sotelo profusely denied the accusations in an interview with People en Español.
Last August, the popular radio host was accused of mistreating and sexually harassing seven of his colleagues.
According to information published by People back then, Alberto "Beto" Cortéz, producer, writer and personality on the show he shared with Sotelo on Univisión, accused the Mexican host of harassing him "physically, sexually and emotionally."
Although Sotelo denied the accusations since last August, it wasn't until Sept 24 that it became publicly known that Sotelo accepted an interview with People. The article says the interview took place in the Mexican's house, in the hills of Los Angeles. Iin the report, Sotelo speaks of his new phase as a host in Sirius XM and making a photo shoot with his wife, María Luisa, and their two children, Edward and Daniel.
The complete interview and photo shoot made by People, the only media to have access to Sotelo and his family, so far, can be read in the edition coming out on Friday, Oct 11.
In the interview, Sotelo narrates his experience and the difficult moments he had to go through since he heard of the accusations made by Mr Cortéz and then by six other colleagues who threatened to accuse him publicly for harassment and abuse.
"I never mistreated or harassed my colleagues. If the jokes in the show were misinterpreted, none of them told me then," Sotelo told People in an excerpt from the interview.
