Although Melissa Joan Hart rose to stardom as a child actor starring in smash hit family-oriented television shows, the 37-year-old actress was far from innocent.
Hart, who is now a happily married mother of three, has opened up about her past drug-fueled exploits, celebrity hookups and same-sex encounters in a new tell-all book, "Melissa Explains It All."
"I experimented with weed, Ecstasy, mushrooms and mescaline for about a year and a half," Hart told Life & Style. In her book, which is scheduled for release on Oct. 29, she writes of taking Ecstasy at the Playboy Mansion in 1999, making out with a girl during a limo ride home, and then heading to a Maxim photo shoot while still high. "That was my third or fourth time on Ecstasy," reveals the former star of Nickelodeon's "Clarissa Explains It All."
Hart admitted that at the time she "was kind of running with a bad crowd." In fact, she claims when Paris Hilton offered her cocaine, she turned her down, although a rep for Paris denies the claim. "I just didn't enjoy taking drugs," says Hart. "I don't like the loss of control."
The former star of "Sabrina The Teenage Witch" goes on to talk about making out with Jerry O'Connell, who she calls a "man-whore," as well as Backstreet Boys singer Nick Carter. She also confesses that she and Ashton Kutcher bumped heads on more than one occasion and that she tried to kick him out of her parties for making "smartass remarks" twice.
"Ashton and I just didn't get along," she recalls, reports ABC News.
