Viewers might want to curb the fanfare for Vincent and Catherine's happy ending, because it will be put on hold for awhile.

Although Vincent (Jay Ryan) and Catherine (Kristin Kreuk) finally got together at the end of last season, they will be separated at the beginning of the second season due to Vincent's capture. And it gets worse. Vincent's memory will be wiped clean, meaning he won't even remember Cat, TVGuide reports. Cat may have to try her hardest to help him remember that they love each other.

During Vincent's capture, he will finally meet the man who turned him into a "beast," who is played by Brian Tee of "Grimm." Meanwhile, Cat will stop at nothing to find Vince. She will team up with JT (Austin Basis) to track Vince down.

Yet, in another twist, Cat is unaware that the man who captured Vincent is her biological father, Agent Reynolds (Ted Whittall).

The stars of the show spoke to TVLine about the upcoming season's focus. "This season's all about building a very rich mythology," Kristin Kreuk said. "So procedural is completely gone now."

The show will come back after a three month time jump, and will focus on the characters' relationships and the history behind Vincent's "beast" powers.

This season will explore Vincent's character in depth. "For him, it's 'Is he a man, is he a beast?" Jay Ryan said. "And [about] trying to reconnect with Catherine and get that love back in their relationship."

This season may also include something brand new that "Beauty and the Beast" fans have never seen before: a female beast. TVLine confirms that newcomer Amber Skye Noyes will be joining the cast of season two as potentially the first female beast. Noyes will play Tori, the daughter of a beast. Cat and Vincent will serve as Tori's mentors and will unveil secrets to her about her life. She will debut in episode four.

It's a possibility that Vince will end up momentarily falling for Tori; TVLine hints that Tori will be a redheaded seductress.

The second season of "Beauty and the Beast" will air on Monday, October 7 on the CW.
