The International Press, Radio and Television Association will give Luis Miguel the "Diamond" award this Friday, September 13 during one of the singer's concerts in Las Vegas.
According to an article published by newspaper El Informador, the international association will give the "El Sol" said award at The Colosseum at Caesar's Palace during the festivities of Mexican Independence.
A press release quoted by El Informador stated that the award will be given by the International Press, Radio and Television Association along with executives of Caesar's Entertainment.
The "Diamond" award was approved unanimously by the Executive Committee. The popular Mexican singer will be given the award for his "brilliant artistic career of almost four decades and prominent presence in the world capital of entertainment."
Luis Miguel, one of the biggest personalities of Latino music at an international level, had previously been awarded in the state of Nevada in September of 2006. The singer of "La Incondicional" and "O Tú O Ninguna" became the first Hispanic artist to receive a star in the Las Vegas Walk of Stars.
On the upcoming occasion, the organizers will deliver a proclamation to the authorities of Las Vegas, naming September 13 Luis Miguel Day.
Pablo Antonio Castro Zavala, president of the International Press, Radio and Television Association, declared that it will be a "great honor" for the organization he represents to give the Diamond award to one of the most successful artists of pop and romantic music.
