The Apple iPhone 5C and 5S were announced on Sept 10. in a special event, and one of the main features discussed by Apple for the iPhone 5S was the smartphone's ability to deliver a superior gaming experience. This is seen in their demo for Infinity Blade 3, which will launch on Sept 18. Apple delivered a preview for the game, and now IGN has the full scoop, which should set a new standard for video games on mobile devices.
Infinity Blade 3 will be a conclusion to the trilogy, and will feature the protagonist of the first two games, Siris, along with a new playable character, who is the mysterious woman originally introduced in Infinity Blade 2. Each character has their own unique sets of weapons and armor, along with the ability to level up each weapon and armor. Each character will also have a different play style for taking down the enemies in the game.
The story for the game remains a secret for now, but it appears as though the game will focus more on the lore of the world and the characters within it, as well as the sci-fi elements that occasionally pop up within the series. While the game will have a linear story structure, players will have a variety of ways they can tackle the challenges that come up in the game. From the new hub of the game, The Hideout, players can bring up the world map, which will have several different locations that players can choose to attack. This means that unlike the first two games in the series, which made forced players to choose one location at a time, Infinity Blade 3 will have multiple paths for users to take. Players will also see the return of ClashMobs to Infinity Blade 3.
The presentation for the game will definitely benefit from the boost in technology afforded to the latest Apple smartphones. The game has great looking graphics, and Chair Entertainment (the developer) estimates that the game will have around 45 minutes of cutscenes. In addition, John Noble, the star of "Fringe" and "Lord of the Rings," will voice The Worker of Secrets, the main villain of the game, adding a new level of depth.
Infinity Blade 3 will launch on Sept. 18, ensuring iPhone 5C or 5S customers will have a solid game to download on their new phones.
