Now that the LG G2 has been unveiled and it will be getting released with a massive 3,000 mAh battery, Samsung Galaxy S4 owners can avoid battery envy by getting Samsung's official spare battery and charger.
According to recent leaks, the LG G2 looks to outperform the Samsung Galaxy S4 on a couple of fronts, but that doesn't matter if you have a removable battery - which, like a dying breed, the Samsung Galaxy S4 still features.
The battery kit from Samsung comes with an extra battery, a case, and a charger. For $43 (on Amazon, for example) the kit will keep you going with a Galaxy S4 standard 2,600 mAh battery that charges in a pretty sleek charger. The battery's holding case, itself, is also pretty slick and can keep the battery's contacts from getting damaged or dirty. The battery charger also includes a Micro USB travel charger at 700 mAh that is compatible with any Micro USB mobile phone. The kit works with AT&T, Verizon Wireless, Sprint, and T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S4s, as well as international and unlocked models.
Of course you can prolong the battery life of your Samsung Galaxy S4 by having fewer widgets on the home screen, turning off extras like GPS, Air View, and Samsung's eye tracking software, and using power saving mode.
The Samsung Galaxy S4 features a 5-inch Full HD 1080p AMOLED display and other high-end hardware that can eat up battery life, even though the 2,600 mAh juice pack should get you through a day. It comes with a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor, clocked at 1.9GHz with 2GB of RAM assisting.
It's available in 16GB, 32GB, or 64GB internal storage models, with a microSD card slot (maybe not a dying, but another endangered feature) that gives you up to 64GB more storage.
