Nvidia retreats from their previous statement about Grand Theft Auto 5, and Rockstar releases new information about the game in a variety of ways in today's news roundup of Grand Theft Auto 5.

Earlier in the week Nvidia claimed that Grand Theft Auto 5 would be coming to the PC sometime this fall, but now the company has retracted from this position in a new statement to IGN:

"This statement was made with the intent of expressing enthusiasm for the games industry in general, and was not intended to represent specific knowledge possessed by NVIDIA. NVIDIA does not have information on any possible PC version release of Grand Theft Auto or its availability. We deeply regret the error."

It looks as though PC users who have been hoping for a PC version of Grand Theft Auto 5 will continue to be left out in the cold by Rockstar, though the developer of the game could eventually port the game to the PC like they have in the past.

Though Rockstar may not have news about a PC version of the latest Grand Theft Auto, they have released new screenshots on the game's official website, as well as a travelogue showing off various aspects of Los Santos and the surrounding areas of the game. Highlights of the screenshots include a submersible exploring an underwater building, Trevor driving away from an epic explosion, and one character committing a heist while dressed as a exterminator.

The travelogue provides details about the game's setting, and there are several slots in the website that have yet to be released, giving fans something to look forward to in the form of additional updates.  Highlights of this new update system include Rockstar revealing that players can buy stocks and play the game's virtual stock market and potentially gain huge amounts of money, or lose it all. Another reveal is that it is campaign season in Los Santos, and the game will have a race between two politicians going down over the course of the game. Perhaps the gang of Michael, Trevor, and Franklin will be called upon to sway public opinion for or against either candidate.

It will be interesting to see what sort of information this new travelogue will reveal about the game, especially with the game closing in on the September 17 release date. Look out for more Grand Theft Auto 5 news as the game closes in on being released to the general public.
