Skeletons in the closet are starting to be uncovered one-by-one for New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez, who's facing a lawsuit filed against him by a Connecticut man for allegedly shooting him in the face following an argument in Florida last February.
Hernandez, who's currently being investigated for homicide after a body was found near his home on Wednesday in Boston, could be in for more legal troubles after a former acquaintance, Alexander S. Bradley, accused him of firing an unregistered firearm right in his face after the two had some heated confrontation at a Miami strip club in February.
Bradley had already submitted a lawsuit in South Florida, asking Hernandez to pay more than $100,000 in damages after sustaining severe bodily injuries. According to TMZ.com, Bradley lost his sight and has to undergo a series of reconstructive surgeries to his in addition to extensive medical care he needed for the rest of his life.
In a report by USA Today correspondent Mike Garafolo, it was found that the lawsuit was already withdrawn on Monday, June 17. However, Bradley's legal counsel explained that there was just a paper work error and they are planning to re-file the lawsuit on Sunday.
Hernandez, who inked a five-year, $37.5 million contract extension with the Pats last August, has been in hot water as of late after police officers searched his home to find an evidence that would link him to the death of a 27-year old man, reportedly an associate of the football star.
The Patriots, meanwhile, will continue to stay silent about the matter until authorities are already done with their investigation.
"I am aware of the reports, but I do not anticipate that we will be commenting publicly during an ongoing police investigation," Patriots spokesman Stacey James said in a statement, according to ESPN.
