The Walking Dead has been a huge success in comic books, television, and video games. Developer TellTale's The Walking Dead game featured a deep storyline that ran parallel to the original story told in the comics and television show, and earned praise from critics and consumers alike. In the past few days, Telltale has begun preparing gamers for the next installment of the series through a series of teaser videos.
The first video released on Vine by Telltale featured somebody putting up a picture of somebody named Vince. The video was labeled "Day 2", indicating that it hinted at a season two for The Walking Dead Game. The new second video is very similar, only with somebody hanging up a picture of a woman named Bonnie, with the video being labeled "Day 220". The third video, labeled "Day 184," highlights a picture of a character in a graduation gown named Russel, before a quick cut to what appears to be the number 40. The significance of the days have yet to be revealed, and it is unknown how Vince, Bonnie, Russel and the unnamed person putting up their pictures are connected.
While it may make sense for fans to assume that these teasers are for a sequel season for The Walking Dead, the writer of the episodic game, Gary Whitta hinted to IGN back in February that Telltale may release bonus content as a sort of season 1.5 to hold over fans until season two is released:
"I can tell you what you already know, which is season two is coming. There's not much to say because it really is very early...it's a way off, But, knowing that it's a way off, and knowing that people are hungry for more Walking Dead...there may very well be more Walking Dead from Telltale before season two. We may have a little something extra for you between season one and two. That will make the wait for season two slightly less agonizing."
Look out for more The Walking Dead news as we get closer to season two's projected release window for the autumn.
