Fans of The Walking Dead games by Telltale Games should get ready for some fantasitic news. The developer has stated that additional content for the game will be released, but not as part of season two.
"I can tell you what you already know, which is season two is coming. There's not much to say because it is really very early...it's a way off," Gary Whitta told IGN. "But, knowing that it's a way off, and knowing that people are hungry for more Walking Dead...there may very well be more Walking Dead from Telltale before season two. We may have a little something extra for you between season one and two."
It sounds like fans of the game will be able to play some bonus episodes of the smash hit series. The game, released as episodes instead of a full game, has gathered critic and commercial sucess since the first episode was released last April. However, Whitta did not mention the release date of this potential new content, nor did he mention how much would become available. No mention of plot details were released, so it also remains to be seen if this will be a mere stand-alone adventure, or a true season 1.5. But it is obvious that the developer is blown away by the fan reaction to the game, and wishes to deliver more terrifying action to fans before releasing a full-blown sequel series.
From what Gary Whitta has said, however, season two is going to take some time before being released, so hopefully this will satisfy zombie fans in the meantime. If Telltale Games continues to outstanding quality of the first season, there is no doubt that the new content will be a must-buy release as well.
