As the months seem to drag on, Samsung Galaxy Note owners are still left wondering when they will get their first taste of Jelly Bean, and as February passes its midpoint, there's still no indication that Android 4.1 is getting pushed out. The closest release date we know of, it seems, should be in March, and in Ukraine.
While Samsung has already started to push out Jelly Bean for its other popular handset from 2011, the Galaxy S2, but owners of the market's first popular phablet are still in the dark. There are signs that the update is the on the way - Samsung has updated several Galaxy Note webpages to reflect upcoming Jelly Bean features. Still, it's been a decent while since those updates were put into place, making everybody wonder when the actual firmware is going to be rolled out.
Samsung Ukraine, however, has come out stating that it will roll out Android 4.1 Jelly Bean for both the Galaxy S2 and Galaxy Note in March, but given the amount of delays this update has received, it would be prudent not to hold your breath. Let's just hope this kickstarts a wave of Galaxy Note Jelly Bean rollouts around the world.
U.S. owners, as usual, will probably be one of the last ones to receive Android 4.1 for the Galaxy Note, as carriers usually need extra time to fill their updates with bloatware on top of Samsung's build.
The Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update for the Galaxy Note, however, will be worth the wait. Project Butter will boost the handset's performance by improving frame rates and processing power allocation. Google Now, Google's own version of Siri, has earned rave reviews, and can do everything from telling you long your morning commute will take to suggesting some tasty recipes.
