One of Nintendo's most faithful cooperators for their Wii U launch is Ubisoft. They have made compromises to provide a killer app in ZombiU, Assassin's Creed 3, Just Dance 4, ESPN Sports Connection, Your Shape 2013, and Rabbid Lands. Of those titles, four are exclusive to the Wii U. Ubisoft has also announced plans for more Wii U titles including the highly anticipated Rayman Legends.
Due to this commitment and past accomplishments with the Ray man series, it is no surprise that the exclusivity of Rabbid Lands makes for a highly anticipated title on the Wii U. Ubisoft has recently stated an open allegiance to Nintendo and they believe it will rejuvenate the game industry. Rabbid Lands certainly shows that they are committed to this effort.
The title is intended for local multiplayer competition and cooperation. Players are treated to a number of different party games which intend to showcase what Nintendo calls "asymmetrical gameplay." For example, in one mini-game, a player attempts to collect all the crystals in a maze using the gamepad while the player using the Wiimote can maneuver a large boulder to crush the other player. In another mini game, a player uses the gyroscopic capabilities of the Gamepad to maneuver a roller coaster while the other drops fireballs to impede his/her progress. In another mini-game two players must work together to match rabbids by lifting their skirts to reveal the symbols in their underwear. Each player gets different views of each rabid which helps them combine differing information to make the matches before the timer runs out.
The game holds up to eight players in turn based games. There can be up to three Wiimotes and one gamepad playing a t once and the Gamepad will always feature a different experience.
