AC Milan managed to pull out a 3-2 win on the road against Zenit St. Petersburg despite a sloppy match.

The Italian side got to two quick goals off a Urby Emanuelson set piece at the 13th minute and then a Stephan El Shaawary strike just three minutes later.

St Petersburg, which has shown a great of instability after player feuds, dominated the chances, but was incohesive and lacked poise in the early going. But just before the whistle blew on halftime, Hulk drove a shot past keeper Christian Abbiati to pull within one. Just four minutes after half time, Roman Shirokov tied the score and put themselves back into the game. It looked like Zenit was atoning for a dreadful loss to Malaga.

But it was not to be as Tomas Hubocan deflected a Riccardo Montolivo cross into his own net to emphasize Zenit's misfortunes. They now have two losses despite being favorites to get out of the group.

Malaga now has two 3-0 wins after a dominating performance of inept Anderlecht.

Malaga was frustrated throughout the first half, but eventually got a goal in the first minute of stoppage from Eliseu. He took the ball right outside the area and volleyed a shot into the back of the net.

Malaga was far more fortunate in the second half when Nacho Monreal was clipped by Cheikou Kouyate. On the ensuing penalty shot, Joaquin scored to make it 2-0 at the 56 minute mark.

Eliseu added another goal in the 64th minute to cap another clean sheet for Malaga who now leads Group C.
