Super Smash Bros. 4 has been one of the most anticipated games coming to the Wii U and 3DS, and fans have been speculating on which new characters and stages will appear in the game. Of course, not every wish-list character can appear in the game, but several franchises may still find a way to contribute to the game in the form of items, assist trophies, and stages. With that in mind, we bring you the top five franchises we think deserve an appearance in the game, in whatever form Nintendo chooses.

5. The Wonderful 101 - The new Nintendo IP may not be big enough to warrant a playable character in the game (after all, there are so many characters in the game that choosing one may be difficult), but selecting a few characters from the game and putting them as assist trophies in the game makes much more sense. Nintendo could even make a stage based around the character if they chose, having characters come in and out, affecting the outcome of the brawl with their unique powers.

4. Mario Party - Mario is possibly the most represented of the Nintendo franchises in the Super Smash Bros. series, but there has yet to be a game based on the party game based on the series. Users could have a stage based on one of the many board game levels from the series, with mini games popping up randomly much like the Warioware stage in Brawl.

3. Punch-Out!! - Little Mac appeared as an assist trophy in the last Super Smash Bros. game, but with the big colorful characters found in the series this game has a lot of potential for Super Smash Bros. content. Plus, a boxing ring is a natural stage for the Super Smash Bros. series to use, so the series' role should be expanded.

2. Bayonetta - Bayonetta may be more mature than most titles in the Wii U's roster, but if Solid Snake can appear in the game, then Bayonetta could make an appearance as well. She would make a good character or assist trophy, plus a stage based on her adventures would be interesting, especially if some giant bosses appear.

1. Nintendo Itself - How crazy would it be to have a Smash Bros. level that takes place in a virtual rendition of the Nintendo offices? Easter eggs galore could be put in, fighters could use office furniture as weapons, and it would open up the possibility of including Reggie Fils-Aime in the game as a playable character, along with assist trophies of Shigeru Miyamoto or President Iwata (in Mii forms, of course).
