Fans of the Super Smash Bros. series have debated what characters should or deserve to be included in the game even before we got our first real taste of the game at this year's E3. While some have been content to simply make character wish lists for the game, others have taken a more proactive approach. Specifically, some fans have put up a petition on Change.org calling for the creator of the series to put Reggie Fils-Aime into the game, president and COO of Nintendo of America. Fils-Aime's supporters quote his first line from E3 2004 as just one reason he should be included in the game: "My name is Reggie. I'm about kickin' ass, I'm about takin' names, and we're about makin' games." The petition also gives a little hint of what could happen if Fils-Aime is indeed put into the game:
"Many Nintendo fans have pleaded for Reggie to be in the upcoming Super Smash Bros. games and he would be a unique character. He could use Nintendo controllers and characters to his advantage as attacks."
Surprisingly enough, the executive is fine with the move, stating on "Jimmy Kimmel Live" that if Masahiro Sakurai, the game's director, is alright with him getting put into the game then "my body is ready," referring to the infamous phrase he used in a past E3 demonstration. It would be fun to see the executive in action against classic Nintendo characters, but if any Nintendo executive deserves to be put into the game in any form it is the man behind Mario and Zelda himself, Shigeru Miyamoto.
One of the biggest pieces of news concerning Super Smash Bros. 4 is the recent development that the game, which is coming out to both the Wii U and 3DS, will not feature a story mode or cutscenes. Creator Masahiro Sakurai reportedly feels as though the features are too much work to just leak them onto the Internet anyway. Nintendo has released a steady stream of information about the game on it's official website, including new character announcements and photos from the game, including the one below showing the new "impact-launch" feature, which shows what player gets credit for knocking an opponent off the stage.
