It's been a while since we've seen anything new crop up about the HTC One Max, the phablet sized version of the HTC One, which many are anticipating to be released before the year is over. But now, PhoneArena has gotten its hands on some information from China, which, when translated, offers more clues to what kind of specs the new device will have.
Perhaps the most important new detail about the HTC One Max is that it will apparently come with Android 4.3 Jelly Bean right out of the box, with HTC's custom Sense 5.5 UI layered over it. Another interesting piece of info about the new phablet is that it will have a dual-SIM version for Asian markets. Other specs and features of the up and coming phablet are close to what has been previously rumored, or what you might expect from a giant sized HTC One.
The HTC One Max is rumored to feature a 2.3GHz quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 system on a chip, with 2GB of RAM assisting. The display will reportedly be a 5.9-inch 1080p Super LCD3 screen. On the back of the device will be an Ultrapixel camera of unknown strength (all Ultrapixels have been 4mp so far) and a 2.1-megapixel front-facing device, if the leaked specs are accurate. The whole thing will be powered by a 3,300 or 3,200 mAh battery.
Other specs seem a little more sketchy from the report. The HTC One Max will supposedly include 16GB of internal storage, which is not too surprising, though if that's as much as you get, that would be disappointing, but the report also says there will be microSD-expandable storage. If that's the case, HTC is taking the HTC One Max in a new direction, because no iteration of the One before has had that. Also, the report says there may be a fingerprint scanner on the back, and that we could see the official launch as early as September. However, take that, and the rest of the report with a grain of salt, as we haven't heard anything official about the HTC One Max, including its existence.
