Gravity
Mexican filmmaker Alfonso Cuarón visited Mexico City on Wednesday, October 16 to tell the press about his latest film, "Gravity", which premieres in Mexican cinemas this week.
The Sound Editing category is always one of the most confusing categories to most audiences because they don't understand what the difference between Editing and mixing mean. This category relates to the sounds created for the film as well as ADR and Foley work. The nominees this year include two films nominated for Best Picture and three with one or two nominations. Previous winners in the category have included "Zero Dark Thirty," "Skyfall," "Hugo," "Inception," "The Hurt Locker," and "The Dark Knight."
The Motion Picture Sound Editors have handed out their annual awards celebrating the 61st ceremony.

"Gravity" has won the American Cinematographers Society.
The Visual Effects race is one of the most predictable races at the Academy Awards this year. For the past five years the award has went to a Best Picture nominee and this year out of the five nominees, only one is nominated for Best Picture.

On Dec. 3 the New York Film Critics Circle will announce the first critic's awards of the year.
