There's some more bittersweet news for Samsung Galaxy S2 and Galaxy Note owners here in the United States. Samsung Ukraine has announced the official rollout dates for Galaxy S2 and Galaxy Note, and it brings up the question, when will U.S. owners get their update?
Two of Samsung's older, yet still-popular devices, the Galaxy S2 and the Galaxy Note, are currently slated to get their Jelly Bean fill over the course of the coming weeks. For owners of those handsets who are simply tired of waiting, they can go ahead and grab Android 4.1.2 firmwares manually. Be warned though - you do so at your own risk.
There's good news all around for owners of some of Samsung's older handsets. Both the Galaxy Note and Galaxy S2 have started receiving their Android Jelly Bean updates in certain regions around the world, and now it seems we have a definitive date for those on Canada's Telus network.

This, as usual, doesn't apply to those with carrier-tied Galaxy S2s. Instead, expect wireless networks to take their time stuffing the update with the usual bloatware nonsense before rolling it out. In some cases, this can take months (Verizon customers know this well), so it's best not to hold your breath if you are waiting for Android 4.1.
The Jelly Bean update for the Galaxy S2 brings all the usual bells and whistles such as Google Now and Project Butter alongside some special Samsung additions like S Cloud. The Galaxy S2 will also get the new Nature UX TouchWiz interface, the same one found on the Galaxy S3.
If you absolutely can't wait, there are always ROMS to try out - but be warned, if you aren't sure what you're doing, it's best to sit patiently for the official release. If you do decide to give a ROM a shot, don't forget to back up your device.
