While most consumers will likely have to wait until the end of January to snag Microsoft Office 2013, the enterprise-oriented Professional Plus 2013 suite is now available for download on the company's Home Use Program (HUP), according to a Neowin report (via ZDNet).
Microsoft charges an additional $9.95 on top of the original cost of the business version of office for the ability to take the software home. ZDNet explains that "HUP is a benefit that Microsoft offers to volume licensees with Software Assurance." Office 2013 first launched for businesses only in early December.
Office Professional Plus 2013 includes Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Publisher, InfoLink, OneNote, Access, Lync, and a series of web apps, notes the report.
So, how about the rest of the Office SKU's? For starters, the traditional Office Standard will cost $369, while Office Professional Plus 2013 is priced at $499. Undergrads and doctoral students may want to check out Office Home & Student 2013 for $139.99. Meanwhile, Home and Business is priced at $219.99, and Office Professional 2013 runs $399.99. As for Office 365 Home Premium, consumers can nab the software bundle for $8.33/month. Office 365 Small Business Premium will be priced at $12.50/month, 365 University at $3.30/month, 365 Midsize Business at $15/month, and 365 Enterprise & Government at $20/month.
Microsoft has further incentivized the new Office with a promotion that encourages any consumer who purchases Microsoft Office 2010 between now and April 30, 2013 to apply for a free upgrade to Microsoft Office 2013 or a one-year subscription to Office 365.
Microsoft Office 2013 is reportedly slated for release at the end of January, so stay tuned for regular updates.
