Google's Nexus lineup of devices are always the first in line to receive the latest and greatest version of Android straight from the horse's mouth. Sprint Galaxy Nexus owners will be joining that club, as it seems that Google has released Android 4.2 for the handset.
The Sprint Galaxy Nexus Android 4.2 update was spotted by the keen folks over at XDA, and is an official release, not a ROM. The build, GA02, weighs in at around 100MB and will have to be manually installed. If you're not used to fiddling with firmwares, you're better off waiting for Sprint to release the upgrade wirelessly, where the installation process is much easier.
Donload the update from Google's servers.
Android 4.2 is the latest version of Jelly Bean, and can only be found on a handful of devices worldwide. Among the usual bug fixes, Android 4.2 also some incredibly fresh features.
Android 4.2 allows for multiple user accounts for sharing between family and friends, much like a desktop computer does. Each user can personalize their Android experience, and their account will remember all their game saves, preferences, and more.
While slightly underwhelming at this point, the panoramic Photo Sphere option gives users more tools to take advantage of their handset's camera. Google Now has been improved, and should be able to help you find a good photo-op location based on your location.
Keep in mind this build is Android 4.2.1. Android 4.2.2 is said to be around the corner, and Google is expected to unveil Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie at its annual I/O conference in May.
